Diversion Control: Recordkeeping Methodology to Minimize Risk with Controlled Substances WEB-070: Dr. Iris Bolton will return to discuss specifics, best practices, and common issues on recordkeeping in animal facilities for compliance with the Controlled Substances Act. The presentation will include examples of forms and paperwork that are used in institutions as documentation sufficient to meet DEA and DOJ needs. This webinar will help you manage controlled substances in your facility, avoid risks of drug diversion, and minimize risk in a DOE inspection. As with many things in life, the devil is in the details. Presenter: Iris Bolton, DVM, DACLAM Iris Bolton attained her DVM from the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a residency in primate medicine and surgery at the California National Primate Research Center at UC-Davis. She has held full-time positions at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center, Pfizer-Kalamazoo, MPI Research, Charles River Houston, UTMB-Galveston, and the Methodist Hospital Research Institute, as well as numerous consulting roles to various organizations. Iris currently serves as the Attending Veterinarian and department head of Veterinary Resources at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN. Iris has remained an active member of state, district, and national AALAS organizations during her tenure as a laboratory animal practitioner, and she is a Past-President of both APV and ASLAP.
