ASLAP Luncheon: Laboratory Animal Vets and Physicians Saving the Rainforest with Hoof Trimmers and a Stethoscope

Come join us on Monday October 29th to learn how "Laboratory Animal Vets and Physicians Saving the Rainforest with Hoof Trimmers and a Stethoscope". Come listen to Dr. Jeff Wyatt, a laboratory animal veterinarian at the University of Rochester and Seneca Park Zoo, talk about the Planetary Health Initiative. The University of Rochester Department of Comparative Medicine and Emergency Medicine leads a Planetary Health Initiative with partners (www.healthinharmony.org) promoting a pioneering strategy transforming logging communities’ health while saving Bornean orangutans and their illegally logged forests in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Their integrated villager health care and rainforest conservation model emphasizes radical listening and transforming lives of stakeholders is a game-changer for sustainable conservation initiatives and a template around the globe. Dr Wyatt's work has a research goal to connect human, environmental and animal health from villagers & orangutans in Borneo to subsistence anglers & sturgeon in Rochester’s Genesee River… all to promote planetary health. The luncheon will be held from 12-2pm at the Baltimore Convention Center.
