AZAALAS Fall Webinar: Compassion Fatigue

Join us to welcome our special guest speakers:

Dr Karuna Patil, Associate Veterinary Specialist, UA University Animal Care, and

Susan Pickering, HR Counselor, UA Life & Work Connections

Long recognized in the human medical care professions, compassion fatigue in the laboratory animal environment refers to the emotional state some may feel as a result of their relationship with the animals they care for, or perform experiments with. The focus of this seminar is to raise awareness about compassion fatigue, acknowledge factors that make animal care staff and researchers susceptible, and discuss strategies for self and community care.
