NWABR Institutional Biosafety Conference

The role and complexity of the work of Institutional Biosafety Committees has markedly increased over the last few years. This conference aims to provide professional development and sharing and networking opportunities for IBC professionals and committee members. A key goal of the conference planning committee is to ensure that conference attendees leave the event with information that can directly inform their IBC and Health and Safety practice. The 2018 conference will continue the dual focus of ensuring that current systems are well run and that committee members are also prepared for new issues and emerging or changed regulations. A key theme this year will also be risk assessment. Dr. Lois Zitzow, MS, DVM, DACLAM is a confirmed keynote speaker for this conference. Dr. Zitzow is the Director, University Research Animal Resources at the University of Georgia. Dr. Zitzow will focus on the interface between IBC and IACUC processes. For any help with this conference or for speaker suggestions please contact Ken Gordon ((206) 957-3337.
